TENT FRAME ANGLE KIT INSTRUCTIONSMaterials Provided: Angle kits are constructed out of 1 1/4" inside diameter galvanized steel tubing. Materials Needed: To complete your frame you will need one-inch EMT (electrical) thin wall conduit, which has an outside diameter slightly less than 1 1/4 " , that can be purchased at any hardware store. RECOMMENDATION: Use heavy duty pipe cutters to cut your conduit as there will be less burrs and sharp pieces of metal. Electrical conduit sleeves inside of the 1 1/4 " inside diameter of the frame angle tube for a perfect fit. We will provide assistance if you have trouble understanding angle kit instructions. TO ORDER AN ANGLE KIT: Only slope - B measurement and width - C measurement required. TO ORDER A COMPLETE FRAME : ALL 4 MEASUREMENTS REQUIRED , A , B , C , D, ANGLE KIT Frame Completion: You will need 3 measurements from your tent to complete your frame : A, B , D How To Measure
If you are ordering a tent frame or angle kit for wall tents you already have please fill out the form below. Either call us with the measurements or email the measurements. Insure all wall tents are taut but not stretched when measuring to insure accuracy. LAY THE TENT ON YOUR LAWN OR IN YOUR LIVING ROOM TO MEASURE THE TENT. YOU WILL NEED SOMEONE TO HELP YOU MEASURE TO INSURE THE CANVAS IS TAUGHT WHEN MEASURING. If the tent is several years old, measure from the end seams about 5"-10" from the bottom, where the tent isn't as stretched. Measuring wall tents at this location will be more accurate and your frame will fit better. Tent frames and angle kits are made custom made for all wall tents to ensure years of service. Ordering a Tent Frame or Angle Kit for a tent in your possession.
If you are ordering a lightweight aluminum frame for wall tents I will also need the Ridge height (from ground to top of ridge). top
HOW TO MEASURE
( A ) WALL HEIGHT ( B ) RAFTER/SLOPE ( C ) WIDTH ( D) LENGTH OF TENT ![]() 1" EMT (inside measurement) thin walled Conduit (10' Lengths) Required For Angle Kits
* If you can use one 10' section of conduit for both a leg and a tent length - 18 total will be required. If not, 21 pieces of 10" conduit required. Recommendation New Tents: RECOMMENDATION: DETERMINE ALL YOUR CUT REQUIREMENTS FOR LEGS AND TENT LENGTHS BEFORE CUTTING CONDUIT AS YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO SAVE ON CONDUIT IF YOU USE ONE PIECE OF CONDUIT FOR BOTH A LEG AND A TENT LENGTH. RECOMMENDATION: REMEMBER THE OLD SAYING "MEASURE TWICE AND CUT ONCE" NOTE: If R or Ridge is marked on angles the angles are for the RIDGE only. Legs: Measure A (wall height) from where tent roof meets top of wall to the " very bottom "of the wall canvas tent. Deduct 1" from the A (wall height) dimensions for angle taking 1" of wall height. Deduct leg length 1% for shrinkage on new tents. NORMALLY, TOTAL DEDUCTION IS 1 1/2" ONE piece legs:
Rafters: Measure B (rafter) from grommet on end of tent ridge to where the roof meets top of wall. Deduct 2" from the B (rafter) dimensions due to the 2 angles taking 2" of the rafter length. Deduct rafter length another 2% for shrinkage on new tents. ONE piece rafters:
If you require two piece rafters you will need to purchase optional sleeves (Porch 2 rafter - 4 sleeves, 3 rafter- 6 sleeves, 4 rafter- 8 sleeves, 5 rafter- 10 sleeves, 6 rafter- 12 sleeves). TENT LENGTHS ( Ridge and 2 Eaves) Measure D : ridge length, from ridge end seam to ridge end seam on each end of ridge. D (length of tent) : No deduction needed on ridge length for steel angles taking up space- use exact D (length of tent) dimension and then deduct for shrinkage factor. Deduct tent length 1% for shrinkage on new tents. TENT LENGTHS - CUT RERQUIREMENTS 3 rafter angle kit - divide tent length by 2 and cut 6 4 rafter angle kit - divide tent length by 3 and cut 9
To make two-piece tent lengths you will need to purchase optional sleeves (Porch- 2 rafter - 4 sleeves, 3 rafter-6 sleeves, 4 rafter-8 sleeves, 5 rafter-10 sleeves, 6 rafter-12 sleeves). Mark all leg, rafter, and tent length sections to make assembly easier. If your tent fits tight over your frame:
TENT SET UP INSTRUCTIONS When You Receive Your New Canvas Wall Tent FIRST DO THE FOLLOWING: Before using your new tent I recommend you wet it down on your frame. When wetting canvas wall tents, especially the seams for shrinkage, insure that you have wall stakes and guy ropes/side ropes on your new tent to insure it only shrinks the normal 1-3% shrinkage and that it shrinks evenly. If guy ropes and stakes are not used it may shrink more than 3% and unevenly and won't fit your internal frame properly. Setting up Internal Frame & Canvas Wall Tents:
